The other reminder is Songs of Praise recording I attended at the Union Chapel in Islington for broadcast on 12 December, two weeks before the Songs of Praise Big Sing Christmas Show (recorded at the Albert Hall in September).
Back to the edition of the programme at the Union Chapel. Once again Aled Jones was the host for the show, with Paul Leddington Wright conducting the congregation and Simon Lole as the Organist. Titled “Aled’s Christmas Guests”, the guests included Sharon Corr, Paul Corrack and Beverley Knight. Sharon Corr sang and played her arrangement of Once in Royal David’s City. As well as interviewing the guest, Aled also sang the opening carol and the first two verses of the congratational carol – See Amid the Winter’s Snow. For the rest of the music, you will have to wait until the broadcast.
And where was I sitting? On the left side (facing the staging) on the end of a row. There was a camera on a track in the adjacent aisle, which was looking along the rows during the congregational singing. Only time will tell if I appear on the finish programme.
