Wise Men in Crib Scene at St Mary's Cathedral

Epiphany – Twelfth Night – it comes under several titles. However today is 12 days since Christmas. Seems a long time ago now, especially with the weather we have been having. There has been snow on the ground round here now for three weeks.

The Feast of the Epiphany although observed on 6 January, Anglican churches, which class it as a Principal Feast, can observe it on a Sunday between 2 and 8 Janaury.

St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow observed it on 3 January this year. The Crib Scene was duly augmented with the Three Magi (Kings; Wise Men….)

Fr Akma Adam preached on the Wise Men and although he did not mention them, it brought to mind the Monty Python film – Life of Brian – which starts with Brian Cohen being born in the stable next to Jesus. At present the Sermon has not been poted on line so I can not let you make up your own mind.
