To thee, Redeemer, on thy throne of glory:
lift we our weeping eye in holy pleadings;
listen, O Jesu, to our suppliction.

2011 is the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible. Bishop Lancelot Andrewes (Bishop of Winchester 1618 to 1626) chaired the ‘First Westminster Company‘ whose task was to translate the first twelve books of the Old Testament (Genesis to King 2). He also acted as a general editor for the project. He is buried in Southwark Cathedral, with his tomb located next to the High Altar (to the right).
