Songs of Praise Big Sing 2011 at Royal Albert Hall

2011 marks the 50th anniversary of Songs of Praise. For the 40th Anniversary, the Songs of Praise Big Sing was established at the Royal Albert Hall the day after the Last Night of the Proms.

This year was the tenth anniversary Big Sing. For the second year in succession I was fortunate to be able to get tickets. We where on the top tier this year immediately in line with Paul Leddington Wright in the right side of the organ.

Music included seasonal carols and hymns appropriate to the season of Christmas and the celebration of New Year.

Along with guest singers including Chris de Burgh, the two winning choirs from the Songs of Praise Choir of the Year competition participated. This year’s Big Sing provided the material for the programmes on 25 December 2011 and 1 January 2012.
