Two services at Southwark Cathedral today.

First Choral Evensong. Earlier that usual as it was being broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 ((Available on BBC iPlayer until 11 April 2012). This was sung by the Girls and Lay Clerks conducted by Stephen Disley, with th organ played by Jonathon Hope.

After supper in the Refectory, the third in the Dean’s (Andrew Nunn) homilies for Holy Week on the theme of The Agony and Ecstasy, this one was sub titled Betraying Christ taking as it theme the betrayal of Jesus by Judas.

Following the homily the office of Compline was sung. An old monastic service, but very moving in the dark of the Cathedral.
